Dragon Riders are influenced by a cluster of our combined interests and the things we love, but among our greatest inspirations are the Legend of Zelda series, Bastion, and Tearaway. Our takeaways from these games are:

  • An epic adventure filled with challenges like in the Legend of Zelda
  • A beautifully crafted story and lush, vivid environments like in Bastion
  • Creative Puzzles and witty interactions with your surroundings like in Tearaway

Dragon Riders is an action role-playing video game played in a third-person perspective, in which players assumed control of the main character, as he progressed through the world of Dragons. Players are accompanied by a dragon called Gordot, who would assist the player throughout the game. The player and Gordot are bonded together, and Gordot’s death would cause The player to die as well and vice versa. Gordot is usually controlled by artificial intelligence, but players can give commands to the dragon when performing attacks. The player can also enter the Dragon Link mode, which allows players to directly control the dragon from the player’s perspective. In this mode, the perspective would shift to first-person, and the player is very vulnerable to attacks. There are three types of dragons, each with different characteristics. The three types can be blended together through the game’s customization options and the dragon’s abilities, appearances, and armor can be modified by the player. The dragon can be ridden, though not at the beginning of the game, and they can perform a special elemental attack with the berserker mode. Players can also upgrade their abilities by using the gems dropped by defeated enemies.

In addition, players are equipped with melee weapons such as swords and ranged weapons like explosive arrows and guns. These weapons will eventually become degraded and lose their durability during combat. The game does not feature any crafting system, but players can pick up different weapons throughout the game. When encountering large enemies, players can swing to them and climb on them to perform attacks. Players also has a dragon arm, which allows him to scan enemies for information, unleash pulse energy, and heal his dragon companion. The playable character can also shape shift into a half-dragon hybrid. When he shape shifts, his abilities will be significantly strengthened. Players can gain skill points, which can be used to level-up, by defeating enemies and taking care of Gordot like healing and assisting him in battle. Additional skill points would have given if players can defeat multiple enemies consecutively.

Risks and challenges

We have been developing Dragon Riders for more than thirty years. Most of the difficult work is done and throughout our past fifty years of working together as a tight-knit team, we have learned how to tackle even the most daunting tasks. We give our estimates a lot of thought and factor in technical hurdles as well as polishing, therefore we are confident with the timeline we have laid out. Of course, no one can predict the future and there is always a chance of unexpected problems to occur which will potentially delay the project. However, even if such a case arises we will finish Dragon Riders without compromise. Making Dragon Riders the best it can be is our main priority and we will always keep you in the loop about the current status of the project. Thank you for your faith and support!
